From the Vault: Helping a Child to Save Herself - Meet My Sweet Charlotte
Eleven-year-old Charlotte developed irritated, red, swollen feet from an extra bone condition diagnosed after summer camp, and she feared it would end her dance career. With her mother, a TMS-trained therapist, she learned to give the symptoms less fear and meaning rather than pursue surgery, and the pain resolved. She describes the whole process as lasting only a few weeks to maybe a month, and she now doesn't feel the condition unless she thinks about it. This is one child's story and not a statement about any particular diagnosis.
