From the Vault: Lifelong IBS, Depression, and Adult ADHD with Alice
Alice describes lifelong IBS beginning in toddlerhood, later depression, anxiety, and health anxiety after the deaths of both parents, and then long COVID that lasted eight to nine months. After recognizing her symptoms on a mind-body symptom list, she began a journaling practice and reports her long COVID resolved within a few more weeks and her IBS and physical symptoms improved quickly, though she still gets occasional pain and bloating. Her account suggests these persistent symptoms were not signs of lasting damage and can ease when fear and stored emotion are addressed, in her experience.
