Miriam's TMS / PDP Success Story - Nerve Pain in Hands, Shoulder & Leg Pain, Insomnia
Miriam, a rock climber from Malta, developed persistent shoulder pain, then severe sciatic leg pain and electric-shock nerve pain in both hands and arms around age 28, leading to a recommended shoulder surgery she later canceled. After finding mind-body/TMS material, she journaled, practiced mindfulness, and gradually returned to movement, and her symptoms resolved within roughly five to six weeks. She returned to rock climbing after five weeks and reported in 2016 that the same pains never returned, though she later dealt with insomnia and low mood that she also worked through. Her account shows that frightening nerve symptoms can fully resolve when the fear driving them is addressed.
